Kirsty's full name is Kirsty Loretta Mitchell. She is 5 foot 8 inches tall and has blue eyes.

She was born to Billy and Loretta on Friday, 28th June 1974 in Glasgow, Scotland. She is half Scottish and half Italian.

Kirsty left for London at the age of 15 to train as a dancer at the Central School of Ballet. An injury persuaded her to persue a new career in acting. She got her break, almost by accident, when she went along, for company, to a younger relative's audition.

At the age of 17, Kirsty won the Miss Scotland title.

She taught herself to play the guitar by reading books.

Kirsty's application for a Green Card was successful in 2011 and she now lives in Los Angeles.
